There aren't many great lunch places in the Chatsworth area. This sushi spot is close to work and isn't bad at all. Going to sushi is always a treat for me because I know that I can't sit at the bar and leave without spending at least $25 for lunch (which is a lot).
This sushi combo plate was about $16 and came with all that you see here, along with one roll of my choice and a nice amount of edemame. Now, if I stayed with that, I would leave with about an $18 or $19 check which isn't bad. You'll see why it got more expensive when you keep reading...
AJI!
That's what bumped my check up to the next level. Behind the sushi chef was a small sign that read, "Toro - Aji"
I was so excited to see it in the whole form, still not even gutted, that I had to order one order of sushi.
I don't really like how this particular Aji preparation folded out but it was still very good.
The sushi chef topped the fresh Aji with shiso leaf (which I HATE), green onion, fish eggs, ginger and a few sauces and lemon juice.
I would have rathered the preparation be more simple but it was still delicious.
As I mentioned above - the sushi lunch came with one roll of my choice and I opted for the crunch roll which really shows how much I was treating myself. This plate was covered in tempura flakes and the shrimp temupra roll underneath that mess was tasty too!
