Just wanted to share some photos from my trip to Newcastle and Edinburgh (pronounced somthing like Edinburah).
If you need to know more about the shot, don't hesitate to ask.
If I can recall correctly, this cool UFO looking bubble of a building was a museum/theatre. It was on the other side of the river and you had to cross one of many bridges to get there.
like one of these...
Once I got to Edinburgh, I was happy. Newcastle wasn't the greatest city in the world, and although expensive, the take out Indian food was amazing, the hostel wasn't great and I didn't get an overall positive vibe from the city, although there were plenty of young people to hang out with.
In Edinburgh I stayed at a great hostel, where most importantly, I felt my things would be safe, while I went out and ate/discovered the city. My first afternoon there I took the advice of some eGulleters and had a lunch special that included a huge bowl of mussels and cost whatever the time was that you came into the restaurant.
After speaking to the chef at the above mentioned place, he told me about a little pub that only locals would ever know about. I was on my way to Kay's Bar before the chef could finish helping me with the map.
I was in Edinburgh for four days, and of those four, two afternoons were a bit rainy...but that left for some great gray sky shots:
The shot below is of a really interesting museum/activity center. I think it was called the Earth Center or something like that. It took up about an hour and a half of my day which was exactly what I needed both for the cool things I saw and to get away from the rain.
